Native Detox in Detail
An in-depth view of what makes our Native Detox Tea so special One of our most popular teas has ingredients with a wide array of health benefits created to bring balance into your lifestyle and boost health and vitality. Here at Roogenic we have crafted a blend of Native Australian and other plants that can boost antioxidants and support maintenance of good gut health which is the core of your wellbeing. Native Lemon Myrtle Lemon Myrtle is a native Australian bush food that is packed with antioxidants and has anti-inflammatory and immune boosting properties. DETOXING Lemon Myrtle has a high content of citral that can support healthy weight loss and detoxing by flushing out the kidneys and liver. It also aids in balancing micro-flora in the gut and helps to stimulate digestion and reduce bloating. It is packed with powerful antioxidants that can fight free radicals and protect against infection, while also containing essential nutrients like calcium, zinc, magnesium, and vitamins A & E. SKIN & MUSCLES Citral is also a natural skin cleanser that fights stress, pollution and other nasties against the skin. Studies have shown that it can boost connective tissue regrowth fighting against cellulite and strengthening capillaries for blood health. Beetroot BLOOD HEALTH Beetroot is well known for it’s benefits to blood health as it oxygenates the blood. This can help to enhance the tolerance of high-intensity exercise and being nitrate-rich can also aid in muscle contractions (good for lifting weights). It is also used to manage blood pressure with significant quantities of blood vessel dilating nitrate and can fight cholesterol plaque accumulation in the heart to prevent cardiovascular disease. LIVER HEALTH This bold plant is full of fibre to assist the body in cleansing the liver. SKIN Beetroot contains vitamin C that can boost the immune system and collagen production for skin health. Ginger Many are familiar with the warming sensation of ginger known in some medicines as the “digestive fire”. This can relieve nausea, aid digestion, soothe cramps, and improve circulation. It is a powerful ingredient that contains gingerol, an anti-inflammatory, and can lower blood pressure and improve circulation, as well as regulate cholesterol and blood sugar. Hibiscus High in antioxidants and anthocyanins, the hibiscus can regulate cholesterol and assist with liver function. Antioxidants neutralise free radicals in your body tissue cells, protecting you from potential harm and increasing longevity by maintaining overall health. Hibiscus is also used to aid digestion and support healthy weight loss by preventing the absorption of carbohydrates and starch. A 2008 study from the American Heart Association found that hibiscus tea also lowers blood pressure due to its anti-inflammatory properties. Also rich in vitamin C it can help boost and stimulate the immune system while boasting antidepressant properties that can calm the nervous system and reduce anxiety. Mint This soothing plant has been used to speed up and ease digestion and has one of the highest concentrations of a range of antioxidants. It is also known as a digestive stimulant and can allow the body to absorb more nutrients from food. SHOP FOR ROOGENIC NATIVE DETOX NOW

Pull Up A Chair for a Peek at Tales of the Arti...
When we were invited to be a part of local bushfood event Tales of the Artisans Long Table Remembrance Day Lunch, we were both honoured to be a part of this story and excited to see the mouth-watering creations from some of Australia’s finest chefs using local produce from WA. As a leading supplier of native Australian bushfoods and ingredients we provided the event with some premium bushfoods to accentuate these delicious dishes. Now a small warning before you continue: you may find yourself feeling hungry and moreish when you dip into a snapshot of our time at this decadent event. Chef Paul “Yoda” Iskov created his Macadamia signature dish with a Native Lemon Myrtle emulsion and Native Quandong. Herb Faust has been a chef for more than 20 years and has been an inspiration for innovative cooking over his career. This creation of cured and ashed swordfish belly with native pigface, native finger lime and white miso was tender and zesty. Sophie Budd has followed her passion for food all across the globe and now finds herself settled in Perth and utilising some of Australia’s finest local ingredients. These native saltbush and lemon myrtle cured lamb canapes were an explosion of flavour. It was an honour to see these admirable chefs finding joy in the flavours of native Australian plants and Roogenic bushfoods. This event highlighted just how much our local food movement has to offer and we are so pleased we had the privilege to be a part of this spectacular Long Table Lunch Event.

Five Great Ways to Re-Use Your Empty Jars
In light of National Recycling Week we thought we’d share some inspiration that reminds us we can all make small changes to create a brighter future for this beautiful country and our planet. Recycling is a great way to minimise waste but sometimes you can even give things new life! Here are our top tips for re-using empty Roogenic tea jars as an alternative to the recycle bin. 1. Refill them with new and exciting treats Give them to friends and family this Xmas, filled with delightful home-made treats like our Pepperberry chutney or Wattleseed Bliss Balls – recipes coming soon! 2. Use them as Kitchen Storage The perfect size for storing spices, dried herbs, nuts and seeds, or even shake things up with a homemade salad dressing! 3. Turn them into Tealight Holders It’s so easy to craft these jars into something uniquely you. Add some ribbons, feathers, and even some pretty fabrics to the outside. Then just pop a tealight candle inside to create some magic! 4. Grow some new life A great size for little succulents to live on your desk or kitchen counter. Plants add plenty of character and liven up any space but you can even personalise the jars for extra flare. 5. Organise Your Office Bits and Bobs These jars fit nicely together on your desk or in a drawer and can store those floating thumb tacks, paper clips, and anything else that’s just floating around.

National Recycling Week: Our Earth Footprint
National Recycling Week serves as a reminder that every little bit counts when it comes to looking after our beautiful country and this earth. We care about our planet as much as you do and because of this, we are conscious of making eco-friendly choices to support the country that gives us so much. Our environment is so important to us and our appreciation only grows stronger from our work with Indigenous communities and small farmers across Australia. Young Indigenous Elder Robert Dann that we work within WA’s Kimberley region, speaks of the importance of passing on knowledge and caring for the land and how we must “look after country because then the country will look after you.” Working in harmony with our environment is vital and we are proud of the choices we make to minimise our earth footprint from production and all the way through to our stores. Our glass jars can be easily recycled… or even re-used! Stay tuned for some great ideas on how you can repurpose your empty jars. Our in-store cups for drinks and samples are made from plants, not oil and are fully commercially compostable. Even the spoons for in-store sampling of our honey are biodegradable to not pollute the environment, or can be composted, and are made from FSC certified Birchwood. This is a week to reflect on all the small (or sometimes big) changes that we can all make in a conscious effort to minimise waste and protect and preserve our beautiful earth for generations to come.
